In what is becoming a very popular activity, climbers are briefed on harnesses and helmets before climbing the 6m square pole whilst being belayed by the ground support team.

After the pole climb is achieved belayers lower the climber to the ground before changing ropes and belay teams. Then the climber ascends the rescue or caving ladder under instruction from trained Koinonia rescue staff members, this activity is all about technique, if technique is not followed climbers will definitely struggle.

Once the ladder is climbed and the method learned the second belay team lowers the climber almost to the ground before an indoor simulated abseil is demonstrated. After participants have trained in all climbing aspects and methods a simulated mine shaft rescue is demonstrated and climbers are encouraged to rescue each other. This activity can be run at night to further heighten the experience.

This activity is recommended for Teenagers and adults only. All instructors are TRAC trained hi ropes Vertical Rescue Level 3 to perform this activity. Listening abality and physical strength is required. Male and Female participants are encouraged to work together. The objective is to demonstrate leadership skills and physical skills, We encourage you to push the physical boundary in this activity.

This is Koinonia's Most difficult challenge.
